Orientation Program

Orientation programe was conducted from 20th to 22nd january 2009.

First day Taryn gave new bags and identity to all the fellows, after distribution of bags and identity cards Taryn taught us one game, the game name was Egg,Chicken and Dianosar.

After the game Naveen sir took the class and explained about Deshpande foindation. Afternoon Chinnababu took the class and explained the policies of DFP.Evening we hand the dinner with DFP staff

On the second day morning NGO people came and presentated their work and we had Q and A session for one hour.Afternoon we had a poster session where all of is displayed ourselves on the charts,Ngo people and DFP staff came for the poster session.

Afteer lunch we had a jail visit ,all the fellows visited the jail and perform two drams relating to their crime and HIV?AIDS.

Jailer was very much and told us to conduct these this type of program in Dharwad jail.

On the third day morning at 5:30 am we visited to Akshay Patra,Akshay Patra kitchen is the largest kithen in the world.The manager of Akshay Patra explained about the cooking system,daily 185000 people they feed the government school children in Dharwad district.

After lunch we visited Agastya foundation in glass house .Agastya foundation is working among school children providing them scientific experiement giving them the practical knnowledge.

Mr.Ketan deshpande the founder of FUEL NGO was the guest speaker.

Mr.Ketan deshpande the engineering student in PUNE took a session for about two hours, He taught regarding the general knowledge and made us to think in a broader way.He also explained about enterpreneurship and some innovative things, after the class he solved all our doubts.

Here are some of the tips that Ketan Deshpande has given to us for fund rising

1.Never talk about money 2) Dont feel discouraged by any other person 3) Maintain good relationship

4) Vision should be broder 5) Mission and Vision should work together.

6) First we should raise funds among local people 7) Effective use of media .

He also shown the video of "EVERYDAY" which has motivated us.
